For this Subrtex sofa cover review, we ran the reversible quilted slipcover for eight weeks on a 92-inch sofa in a household with two dogs to see how the fabric and liquid-resistant layer actually hold up. Fit and Installation

Installation: 4 minutes for a 92-inch sofa. The single-piece design pulls over the sofa frame and cushions, with elastic bands that hook under the sofa frame rail and straps that thread around the sofa legs.

The single-piece design limits how well the cover can conform to complex sofa geometry. At the arm transitions (where the seat surface meets the arm surface), the quilted fabric creates visible bunching. At the back panel (where the back cushion meets the back of the sofa), similar bunching occurs. This is not a defect — it is the inherent limitation of a single-piece cover.

Washing

Machine washable. The cover fits in a home washing machine up to the XL size (tested in a standard large-capacity washer). Wash on cold to preserve the liquid-resistant treatment and the elastic components. Tumble dry low.

After 8 weeks and 10 washes: the liquid resistance was measurably reduced. Water that beaded off the new cover began absorbing at 60-90 seconds of contact rather than 2-3 minutes. Pet Hair Management

The quilted texture captures pet hair in the stitched channels. Vacuuming with an upholstery tool on a weekly schedule is required for a medium-to-heavy shedding dog. The hair releases from the quilted fabric more easily than from microfiber alternatives, but less easily than from flat-weave knit.

For a lint roller: press firmly and pull slowly. Quick pulls at a low angle release hair better than short rapid strokes.
