Laptop cooling pads are simple products, but they are misunderstood in ways that lead to buyers purchasing the wrong type or discovering the cooling pad does not help their specific laptop at all. Step 1: Determine if Your Laptop Is Throttling
A cooling pad only helps if your laptop is thermally throttling. Thermal throttling means the processor is reducing its speed to stay within temperature limits.
